Last night's episode of NXT fit snugly into the category of 'good'. That's damning it with faint praise, which is not to suggest that any of the wrestling or production elements from last night's show were bad; every individual cog in the machine worked just fine, it's just a little unfortunate that the sum total of everyone's effort will probably be forgotten about in a few day's time. With one exception: James Storm made his NXT debut, which briefly set the building on fire. Last night focused on challengers: Dawson & Wilder have their sights set on the tag belts, ditto Bliss for the Women's title and Crews is being given the highly effective "Who is Finn Balor" treatment for his run at the NXT Championship, but without any appearances from the champions, there's only so much impact that each story can have at this point in time. There was a lot to like from last night's Full Sail showing and, in Storm's appearance, something to love, but wrestling doesn't feel quite as urgent without the presence of gold. Full card (w/ finishes): Asuka vs Billie Kay Asuka forces Kay to submit to the Asuka Lock. Enzo & Cass vs Dawson and Wilder Enzo pins Scott Dawson with an unexpected small package. James Storm vs Danny Burch Storm hits Burch with the 8 Second Ride for the win. Alexa Bliss vs Peyton Royce Bliss drops the Sparkle Splash on Royce for the victory. Rhyno vs Baron Corbin Corbin counters the Gore with an End of Days for the pin.
