4 Ups And 3 Downs From Last Night's WWE NXT (Oct 21)
Downs... 3. Re-Run Main Event It speaks volumes that NXT chose to end last night's show with a promo from Samoa Joe, rather than a lingering shot on the victor of the main event. Last night, Baron Corbin and Rhyno were last on the dance card and it would be understandable if your day got about 12% less exciting from reading this sentence. It's not that Corbin and Rhyno are necessarily bad - Rhyno is still a freakish physical specimen and Corbin is improving in the ring - but we've already seen this match, and quite recently too; the two men clashed at NXT TakeOver: Unstoppable back in May, with much the same results. Their latest encounter made sense from a storyline perspective but added very little to what we've seen from the two men. In fact, both superstars felt a little too aware of the lack of excitement, allowing momentum to dip in places. The hard-hitting spots hit hard, but overall it was somewhat of a sluggish slugfest, more of a midway match than a closer.
