"Who is the greatest professional wrestler of all time?"

This is a question so vast, subjective and unanswerable that you'll get something different from almost everyone you talk to. Whether you grew up in the golden, Attitude, Ruthless Aggression or any other era of professional wrestling, you'll have a thing or two to say about this subject. Still, narrowing it down to just those who are active today makes it entirely different.

Although many people like to look to the past to identify history's greatest performer, there are many candidates from the modern era who could stake their claim to the title. It's no mystery that wrestling is currently experiencing a renaissance, the likes of which hasn't been seen for decades, so claiming an active wrestler is the GOAT isn't a stretch of the imagination.

Whether you're a fan of these coming performers or not is irrelevant, as you can't deny their worthiness to be nominated for this title.

Before starting, it's important to note a couple of honourable mentions. So, please consider Kazuchika Okada, Edge and AJ Styles part of that category. Let's see who beats them out...

5. Chris Jericho

If you were to say that Chris Jericho is just as good in the ring now as he was in his early days, then you'd have a nose longer than Pinocchio's. However, while his best days in the squared circle are behind him, it's still mind-boggling that Jericho is as good as he is, and no one can deny the Hall of Fame worthy legacy that he carries on his back.

Having started his career in the 1990s, he's one of the few stars who seems to have done it all. He found tons of success on the smaller stages in his early days, wrestled in Japan, was a world champion in the biggest promotion, and even became a veteran star helping to usher in the new era through AEW. The man indeed has had his cake and eaten it too.

It's safe to say you're aware of Jericho's best qualities, as everyone knows of his talent for reinvention. The many faces of Jericho have followed him throughout his career, as he's an unrivalled expert when it comes to changing his character for the times, forever keeping himself relevant.

He's an obvious choice for this list, as his wrestling legacy speaks for itself, and he's still entertaining for days, even if his age is catching up to him.
