5 Ups & 3 Downs From AEW Dynamite (December 6 - Results & Review)
MJF Vs. Hangman Page is teased on a very good if very slightly flawed night.
The bad thing about AEW television declining in quality - other than the general experience of your escapist fun not being so fun anymore - is that a lack of form dents trust in the process. You don't fizz about in the days before Dynamite in a state of rapt anticipation. You don't giddily discuss what's in store on TBS.
You start to worry, or, worse still, you start to not care as much. You start thinking that the thing you're about to watch will be bad. You start to wonder whether MJF and Samoa Joe will actually wrestle The Devil's Masked Men - eurgh - and not immediately attempt to reveal their faces the second that they grab them in a headlock.
That would be silly - but then, so was the show-long storyline at Full Gear.
Meanwhile, the Gold (Dynamite) League just isn't as good - as of yesterday - as the Blue League on Collision. Every result was predictable before last night, not one match has been unqualified great thus far, and Jay Lethal basically did what most expected Jay Lethal to do: wrestle gentleman's three-star matches and lose gentleman's three-star matches.
Were those worries unfounded - and did Adam Copeland justify the huge outlay and hype-job after a good, not great start to his AEW in-ring career...?
