Who is the WWE World Champion?

Last week's Smackdown was one of the best episodes of the show since the brand split took effect. Boasting an excellent Intercontinental Title match between The Miz and Dolph Ziggler, a strong main event with John Cena and Dean Ambrose, and a hot undercard match that saw American Alpha take on The Usos, the show was a spectacular affair that easily outclassed Raw. Could the blue brand keep up the momentum?

Yes. With a show built around an AJ Styles-Dean Ambrose WWE World Championship match (first announced on last week's episode), Smackdown once again proved that two hours, a solid build, enough in-ring time, and strong personalities can easily outdo all of the nonsense that goes into Raw. Given that this week's episode of the so-called flagship show drew record low ratings, Smackdown looks poised to outperform the red brand by every conceivable metric.

The show wasn't perfect, by any means. The worst feud in WWE continued with a series of segments that inexplicably ran through the entire show and managed to simultaneously bore and baffle viewers. Still, the rest was great, and that made for a memorable episode that was largely time well spent.
