The wheels really came off Raw quickly on Monday night, didn’t they? It was bad enough the show started with an impromptu match being made and then another one being booked a couple segments later, but the show got derailed when Triple H decided that what WWE really needs to counter a double world champion who rarely defends his titles is another world title.

That announcement is going to be one of the most scrutinized – and likely criticized – moves WWE makes for a while. It was… something, for sure.

The rest of Raw was pretty pedestrian overall. The Cody Rhodes/Brock Lesnar story treaded water for another week, Damage CTRL is continuing its slow circling of the drain, Trish Stratus followed up her big heel promo with a dud, and Bobby Lashley and Austin Theory are feuding again. Yay.

The Judgment Day continues to be the savior of Raw, with Bad Bunny delivering a strong finish to the show, but by then, things were pretty far gone. The Bloodline also got some shine through segments with Sami Zayn to revitalize that story throughout the night.

But overall, this was a pretty drab show that was made much worse by that new piece of hardware.

Let’s get to it…
