DOWNS…

7. Another Impromptu Marquee Match

Pop quiz: What was going to be one of the signature matches on Raw Monday night if Finn Balor hadn’t interrupted Cody Rhodes and triggered a series of events that led to the American Nightmare challenging Balor to a match?

It’s such a WWE thing that many fans have just become numb and accept that Raw is going to go on the air without a complete card, and it’ll be fleshed out and filled out as the show wears on. In this case, it was Rhodes/Balor at the top of the third hour, filling a good-sized chunk of programming with a match that is the kind you’d typically want to advertise ahead of time.

And that doesn’t take into account the six-woman tag match that was made on the fly during Raw, because that’s how WWE rolls. Just another day in sports entertainment.
