There are all types of managers in wrestling. Sometimes they are former wrestlers that can't have matches anymore, other times they are simply people that are great talkers and sometimes they can even be people that are dating or married to the wrestler they were with. A successful manager is somebody that enhances the talent that they are managing. If the manager takes up too much of the spotlight then it detracts from the person trying to do their thing in the ring. Have you ever noticed that most managers are usually shorter guys or at least people that aren't that tall? The reason for that is because if the manager looks bigger than the talent that's in the ring then it makes the talent look inferior. Same reason you won't see a 6'5" referee either. It seems as if there's a resurgence of managers in WWE the last few years with the presence of Paul Heyman and Zeb Colter, both of whom are very effective in their roles. Even Lana could prove to be very valuable since she's a gorgeous woman that is attracting the eyeballs of fans everywhere. There have been dozens of great managers over the years, some of whom that aren't going to appear on this list. One man actually appears twice because he was so good with more than one person.
