7 Booking Steps For Adam Cole's WWE Debut

The inevitable has happened - Adam Cole has signed with WWE. Well, reportedly anyway. It feels like 'Cole to WWE' rumours have been whispered of for years now, and the only surprise with all of this is that it took until mid 2017 to happen. Cole is yet to get a profile page on WWE.com, but it isn't far away.
For years, fans worldwide will have dreamt of Cole turning up in a WWE or NXT ring. Those same fans are on the cusp of seeing their dreams come true, but how will WWE introduce him? They say you only get one chance to make a first impression, and it is vital that creative gets this right with Cole.
WWE debuts haven't exactly blown the world away over the last couple of years (Mike and Maria Kannelis, I'm looking at you), so how can Cole's debut be booked for maximum impact? If NXT is looking to establish a major feud and beef up the roster in the process, I've got a couple of ideas for them...
7. NXT TakeOver - A Face In The Crowd
In all likelihood, Adam Cole will debut in NXT the way many other stars did before him. NXT TakeOver: Brooklyn III takes places this coming Saturday, and Cole's signing has come too late to find a place for him on the card. As a result, Cole will more than likely be seen in the crowd as a curious onlooker.
NXT has used this tactic on a number of occasions in the past, and it seems to do the job just fine. It gives the live crowd something non-wrestling to cheer, and it also adds weight to the idea that NXT is the hottest pro wrestling brand on the planet. That may no longer be true, but WWE would still like you to believe it is.
Whilst this is usually a lazy way of introducing new signings, it makes sense to use this avenue for Cole. It removes the vagueness over his signing, but also allows NXT to keep its cards close to its chest.
