Bobby Roode's glorious NXT Championship run will come to an end at TakeOver: Brooklyn. Roode has been a fantastic champion, but it is time for fresh blood at the top of the table. Drew McIntyre is well positioned to take on the baton from The Glorious One, and TakeOver will end with McIntyre as NXT Champion.

Roode is all but ready to head up to the main roster, and dropping the NXT Championship will allow him to do just that. Brooklyn is as good a time as ready to freshen up the NXT landscape, and the developmental brand needs to come out of the show with open spaces for individuals to take advantage of.

With Roode off to the main roster, NXT will need someone to step up and be the top heel. Adam Cole will be the first name on everyone's lips, but it will be weeks before he gets a chance to establish himself.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
