WWE jabs were inevitable when All Elite Wrestling hit Vince McMahon's own backyard for last night's episode of Dynamite. They came during Chris Jericho and Eddie Kingston's in-ring segment, in which they were well-deployed and fit the feud's theme (more on that later), but didn't define a show held just 22 miles from Stamford.

Not by a long shot.

This was a night of heavy building and heavy lifting. With just one more round of shows to go before Revolution 2022 (6 March), AEW stacked an already-beefy lineup with more matches, stakes, and intrigue. Almost everything on Dynamite was to service the pay-per-view and while not all of it landed, each individual segment at least brought its participants further along.

The highs were spectacular. Dealt by Kingston, 'Hangman' Adam Page, reDRagon, Jon Moxley, Bryan Danielson, and especially MJF, they stand as pristine examples of what this company can produce when in full flow. Last night was another strong one in AEW's recent run of quality weekly television - and the result is a pay-per-view card that feels like one of the most exciting in the company's young history.

Let's light the fuse...
