7 Ups & 2 Downs From AEW Dynamite (23 Feb)

Downs...

2. Ricky, Rushed

Powerhouse Hobbs Ricky Starks
AEW

Through no fault of the workers, Ricky Starks vs. 10 felt unsubstantial, cannibalised, as it was, by an early commercial break.

The bulk of the match was swallowed up by its picture-in-picture period, which kicked in after just a few minutes. When we came back, it felt like it was over in a whirlwind, with Ricky's poorly-captured mask-grab finish (creative, as it was) underwhelming as a result.

It's a shame. While the wrestlers worked hard with what they were given, they weren't given much at all. This is perhaps understandable on a show as stuffed with content as this one, which featured a bunch of long segments in bigger programs, but it would have been given Starks' entry into the Face of the Revolution bout more time to breathe.
