Apollo Crews is a special type of professional wrestler. For the entirety of my life, professional wrestlers have more often than not come with Adonis-like physiques, seemingly chiselled out of marble. Unfortunately, this coincided with an almost embarrassing lack of mobility, as much like the underpants gnomes phase two hadn't been considered. 'Big men + ? = Profit' may as well have been the WWF's motto. Fast forward to today, and you still have a landscape dominated by bodybuilders. The lumbering dinosaurs have gone however, and now we have men like Crews. He is as big, if not bigger than most that have come before him, and he comes with the athleticism of the most impressive cruiserweight. His finisher is a standing moonsault after all. For a number of years Crews was a standout on the independent scene as Uhaa Nation, performing mostly with DGUSA and Dragon Gate, along with PWG, FIP and others. From the moment you saw him, it was blindingly obvious that Uhaa was destined for the biggest stage, and that is where he finds himself now. After making his NXT debut on his birthday at TakeOver: Brooklyn, Crews has quickly shot up the card and now sits in the upper echelons of the NXT pecking order. The sky is limit for this big man. But what do we know about the man behind the moonsault? Surprisingly little as it turns out, but never fear, I'm here to fill you in on a few things you might not have been aware of.
