Bray Wyatt deserved way more than being an Undertaker rebound...

Star power is at a premium in 2017. Don't believe us? Just look at the latest WrestleMania card for proof. Names like The Undertaker, Bill Goldberg, Triple H and Brock Lesnar dominated the show, but only one of those stars has wrestled since.

Convincing a mass audience to consistently open their wallets for names like Dean Ambrose, Bray Wyatt and the like remains a real problem. These guys are over, but they're not in the same league as part-time box office monsters like 'Taker and pals - at least not to more casual fans. Why is that?

Perhaps the problem can be traced back to matches that acted as genuine opportunities to put fresh stars on equal footing to their more celebrated counterparts. Then, there are those bouts that should have enhanced both performers and the story being told, but somehow fell short or became instantly forgettable.

8. Goldust vs. Stardust (Fastlane 2015)

Both Goldust and Cody Rhodes have been outspoken in the past about their wish to collide on the grand stage of WrestleMania. WWE apparently thought the match wouldn't cut it at 'Mania, because they instead promoted it as throwaway for the Fastlane 2015 pay-per-view. What a missed opportunity.

Goldust vs. Stardust would have been ideal for WrestleMania 31, even if it was only handed 7 minutes and stuck in the middle of the card. The siblings didn't get their big moment, though, and it's pretty damning that people had forgotten all about their issues by the time 'Mania rolled around just over a full month after Fastlane.

What should have been a cool story for the brothers to sink their teeth into was relegated to going on second. WWE wasted the potential for Stardust to have his most meaningful match yet, and for Goldust to look relevant again in a situation fans could rally behind him during.
