8 WWE Superstars Lucky To Not Be Released

Damien Sandow gets released but these guys get to stay?

WWE has well and truly moved on from the eight superstars released last week. Some of the released stars may have come as a surprise, but what's even more shocking is the dead weight that remains on WWE's roster.

Although professional wrestling is a form of entertainment, WWE employees are expected to perform at a consistently high level, as is the case with any regular line of work. If a Superstar is unable to stand out from the pack, it generally results in them being shown the door.

Even following WWE's cull, a number of performers without much of an upside remain on the roster. Whether it's due to a lack of talent, lack of room to grow or potential for negative publicity, certain wrestler should no longer be working for the largest professional wrestling company in the world.

Superstars being 'future endeavoured' is a gritty but essential part of the business. It is often forgotten that further than no longer being on TV, those released from WWE have lost their job. It's with respect for the mentioned performers' livelihoods that this article is written.

Additionally, this list will only feature those with legitimate reasons for being potentially released. Apologies to the legion of Eva Marie haters out there.

These are eight superstars lucky to still be under WWE contract...

8. Alicia Fox

It doesn't say much about you as a performer when Brie Bella is able to outshine you during the Divas Revolution angle.

Alicia Fox isn't bad in the ring by any means, but she hasn't quite been able to put all the pieces together during her eight-year WWE main roster tenure to become a standout performer. Now that WWE's roster has completely revamped its Women's division and is reintroducing pure wrestlers, Fox is only finding herself falling further and further behind the curve.

Fox is not strong on the microphone - a skill hardly required for the 'Divas' of yesteryear - and her in-ring versatility is not where it should be for someone who has wrestled for as long as she has. It only takes one glance at the similarly-placed Natalya and her recent success to see just how far behind Fox is.

It's never nice to see somebody lose their job, but Alicia Fox is rapidly becoming dead weight. If Fox didn't make such a good drama queen and hilarious drunk on Total Divas, chances are she would probably already be out the door.
