9 Bold Predictions For Post-WrestleMania RAW & SmackDown

What's going down on WWE's biggest TV shows of the year?

For some fans, the post-WrestleMania Raw is just as big an event, if not even bigger than "The Showcase of the Immortals" itself. Year after year, the traveling crowd sticks around for the following night's show, which WWE heavily stacks with debuts, returns, angles and standout matches.

One of the trademarks for the post-'Mania episodes are the lively crowds and their barrage of creative, memorable chants and enthusiastic reactions to the performances put forth in front of them.

Now that the brand split is in full effect, it's time for that same focus and prestige to be applied to SmackDown, which has proven to be competitive with the ratings trends of the flagship show. Many of the more hardcore fans among the WWE Universe prefer the blue brand to Raw, citing it as the more cohesive and well-written of the two programs.

The following is a list of predictions for the most eventful shows on WWE's annual calendar. Returns, debuts, goodbyes, new angles and controversial moments will be in abundance...

9. Kurt Angle Becomes Raw General Manager

Now that Mick Foley has been relieved of his position alongside Stephanie McMahon as Raw General Manager, it’s time for someone else to take up the mantle. While logic would dictate that the McMegalomaniac would select someone more in line with her thinking to be a subservient lapdog, the crowd is clamoring for another man to step into the role.

When/if Kurt Angle’s iconic theme “Medal” hits over the loudspeakers at Raw, the Orlando crowd is going to go apesh*t, showering him with affectionate and ironic chants of “You suck”! We know that he’s going to be there since WWE always does the segment where they recognize that year’s Hall of Fame inductees, but will he appear in another capacity?

I’m saying yes, and WWE.com has even backed up this assertion with hints of their own.

The choice to make Kurt Angle the new GM is such an obvious one that WWE would have to be completely tone-deaf to ignore it, which, now that I think about it, isn’t all that reassuring. We know that Angle wants to get back in the ring, but that’s going to take some coaxing on WWE’s behalf, so give us the next best thing and let him play a weekly character on our TV screens.

This is the safest prediction on the list.
