9 Bold Predictions For Post-WrestleMania RAW & SmackDown
8. The Demon King Returns To Raw
We know that Finn Bálor is back on the road with the Raw brand, rejoining his colleagues this past weekend. He’s obviously been cleared for action, so now the only question that remains is: when will he make his impactful return to TV?
Most fans are split between an actual appearance at WrestleMania or the following night’s Raw, and since WWE usually likes to hold off on any big returns until after 'Mania, I’m going to go with Raw.
Bálor is a guy who now has a myriad of different booking possibilities before him. He could easily align himself with Triple H’s heel faction, teaming up with fellow former NXT champs Kevin Owens and Samoa Joe, but the booking of recent live event matches seem to suggest that won’t be the direction.
If the Hunter/Seth Rollins program continues beyond Mania, then we could see Bálor side with the man who put him on the shelf to fight the heels - devoid of real-world logic, but perfectly sensible for wrestling - which could lead to some great bouts.
Better yet, WWE could immediately reinsert him into the Universal title picture by having him come back to challenge the winner of the Brock Lesnar/Goldberg main event. Since the company seemed to be all in on “The Demon King” (say it 11 more times in Michael Cole’s voice), there’s no reason not to push the reset button and go back to where Bálor was prior to his injury changing all plans.
