AEW Roster "Concerned" Over New Collision Travel Schedule
Another weekly show theoretically means more travel for AEW stars...
AEW wrestlers have reportedly expressed concern over the prospect of working two television shows a week ahead of the Collision brand's Saturday, 17 June launch.
PWTorch's Wade Keller reports that had AEW and CM Punk been unable to resolve their issues (which appears to be the case), wrestlers weren't exactly thrilled about the scheduling implications. One source commented outright that they didn't sign-up to work two weekly television shows.
AEW is reportedly planning some form of roster split between its Wednesday flagship, Dynamite, and Collision. Punk is expected to be a Collision centrepiece, joined by the likes of Miro, Thunder Rosa, and Andrade El Idolo.
Keller notes that AEW may opt to have top Dynamite wrestlers work Collision dark matches as a means of boosting ticket sales. Should this happen, wrestlers have shown concern about the added travel days, though this wouldn't be as pertinent whenever AEW opts to tape Collision after Dynamite on a Wednesday, rather than live on a Saturday.
As confirmed on Dynamite last night, Collision debuts in Chicago, IL's United Center on 17 June. AEW is yet to formally announce Punk for the episode.
