Backstage Update On 2 Wrestlers Potentially Returning To WWE Raw Tonight
How is the WWE Raw script looking for these two wrestlers, with both tipped to return?
Big comebacks for Mustafa Ali and Asuka were both featured on the script for tonight's episode of WWE Raw as of this morning, reports Fightful Select.
While it must be stressed, once again, that WWE scripts often undergo swooping last-minute changes, with nothing certain in this company until it actually happens, the promotion at least had ideas down for both long-missing wrestlers early in the day.
For Ali, original plans had him working some kind of segment with The Miz. This is despite Mustafa still being assigned to the SmackDown roster. Asuka, meanwhile, is in line for an interaction with Becky Lynch, who is also due to return on tonight's show (albeit from a much shorter absence).
Fightful had previously reported on both wrestlers over the weekend. In one report, the outlet noted internal discussions over a shock comeback for Ali, who requested (and was ultimately denied) his WWE release in January. Similarly, it was reported that Asuka was due back on television "imminently", with Raw pinpointed as a potential landing point.
Asuka has been off television since taking time away to undergo surgery in July 2021. Ali, meanwhile, has absent since that October.
