WWE has a difficult booking problem to solve with Roman Reigns' run as Undisputed Universal Champion.

WrestleVotes reports that the situation is complex. The promotion is stuck between wanting to approach WrestleMania 39 with two separate World Champions while also not wanting Reigns, a dual title-holder since 'Mania 38, to lose at all between now and then. As a result, Paul 'Triple H' Levesque and his creative team are all-ears when it comes to pitches.

Reigns has been Universal Champion since Payback 2020, when he dethroned 'The Fiend' Bray Wyatt. Last month saw him pass the two-year mark with that belt over his shoulder. For the past five months, meanwhile, he has held both the WWE and Universal Championships, defeating Brock Lesnar to effectively create the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship after WM 38.

Roman's latest challenger, Drew McIntyre, was felled at Clash At The Clash on 3 September. It is expected that Reigns will take October's Extreme Rules premium live event off before defending his gold on the Saudi Arabian card expected for November.

It has long been reported that USA Network and FOX both wish to have a top champion stationed on their network. Currently, Reigns calls SmackDown, a FOX property, his home, though he has appeared on Raw sporadically throughout his run.
