Bandido Latest: WWE Makes Offer, AEW Deal Not Signed
An update on Bandido, who is a wanted man after last week's Dynamite.
Top free agent Bandido has not signed a deal with AEW - and the 27-year-old has a separate offer on the table from WWE.
It had been reported earlier this week that while official confirmation hadn't come through, Bandido was believed to have agreed on terms with AEW. This isn't the case. Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer, who had corroborated the previous story, has since learned from sources that Bandido has not signed the AEW deal.
The former ROH Champion wrestled Chris Jericho on last week's Dynamite. Their main event drew widespread acclaim, including a ****1/4 rating from Meltzer, and AEW chief Tony Khan was so enamoured with Bandido that he offered him a full-time contract there and then. WWE was equally impressed, reportedly chasing the high-flyer's phone number during the Jericho match.
Interviewed by Mas Lucha, Bandido confirmed that he is still in negotiations with AEW - and that there's a WWE offer on the table for him as well.
The 27-year-old became a free agent following Ring Of Honor's pre-arranged hiatus in December 2021, as announced by former owners Sinclair Broadcasting months ahead. Khan's purchase of ROH was confirmed in March.
