Bobby Lashley Still Wants WWE Title Match With Brock Lesnar
Bobby Lashley talks up HUGE WWE Title feuds with Brock Lesnar and Drew McIntyre.
WWE United States Champion Bobby Lashley is happy with his current spot in the company, but that doesn't mean he isn't still looking to face Brock Lesnar before he rides off into the sunset.
Speaking to Sports Illustrated in an interview released yesterday, the Hurt Business man expressed his pride at carrying the United States Championship:-
"I thought the United States title was perceived for a long time as just another title, but it has so many great names behind it. I’m legit as it gets, and I take a lot of pride in defending this title, especially against guys like Riddle and Lee. I saw Riddle’s idea for a Fight Pit, and I’d love to do something like that for the U.S. title. It won’t change the outcome, but it would be a lot of fun."
Regardless, his ultimate goal is higher. Lashley described the WWE Championship as his "priority" since returning to WWE, adding that he wants a match with "old-school" Drew McIntyre, citing their "unfinished business." Throwing Lesnar into the mix excites him as well:-
Adding Brock always adds a lot. He’s as real as it gets, and he’s someone I want in the ring. So I’m open to that, but me and Drew can do it on our own, too. There are a lot of options, which is great for everyone.
Lashley has expressed his desire to face Lesnar several times in the past, with his Hurt Business stablemate, MVP, recently calling for the bout to headline WrestleMania 37. This is unlikely, given Lesnar has been absent since WrestleMania 36.
The WWE Title will be contested in a titular Elimination Chamber bout at this weekend's pay-per-view. Lashley, meanwhile, defends his US Title against Riddle and Keith Lee.
