Speaking on Control Your Narrative, Adam Scherr claimed to have turned down "an astronomical amount of money" to participate in EC3's Free The Narrative II event, which aired last week and featured his first wrestling match since his release from the market leaders.

In addition, the 38-year-old has received offers from several different promotions (h/t Fightful):-

"I turned down a lot of money. Like, an astronomical amount of money to do this. There are days where I'm thinking about it like, 'Holy s**t.' Every three letter word corporation out there has made me an offer, talked to me, about what I want to do moving forward. I said, 'first and foremost, I have something that I want to do.' One was [Free The Narrative]. Two was just having the chance to breathe and live."

Scherr has been linked to almost every major promotion since WWE let him go on 2 June, including AEW and IMPACT Wrestling. A WWE return has also been speculated for the former Universal Champion.

Free to appear and sign for other promotions since his 90-day non-compete clause expired on 31 August, Scherr has thus far resisted the temptation to do anything else beyond Free The Narrative II.
