WWE will be airing a live one hour special on Dusty Rhodes this coming Monday. Taking place on the WWE Network immediately after the Chicago Raw, it will feature WWE superstars talking about Rhodes' life and career. What's notable is that Cody Rhodes is scheduled to return on Monday's Raw. The fact that WWE have scheduled a live special on Dusty immediately afterwards is likely not a coincidence. If WWE superstars are going to be talking about Dusty, it makes sense that Cody would open the show with his own words. "Live from Chicago, WWE celebrates the life and career of Dusty Rhodes, as told by WWE Legends and Superstars," is WWE's synopsis for the show. It sounds like it will be like the kind of live tribute shows they've done in the past, with numerous WWE superstars interviewed on their memories of the departed. These tend to be very emotional occasions and are captivating to watch. Indeed, past tribute shows have done stellar ratings for WWE. Not to say that they commercialise tragedy, but they'll be well aware that a Dusty special with Cody speaking is going to have a lot of people tuning in to WWE Network. At this point, you'd have to guess that the Stardust character is done and Cody will be returning as himself. He'll be welcomed back as a big babyface and hopefully get his own career back on track. He's a fantastic wrestler, but he needs the right opportunities to shine.
