Correction On This Week's WWE Backstage Viewership
Turns out this week's Backstage viewership wasn't as awful as first thought.
Yesterday brought reports that WWE Backstage had drawn a truly horrendous viewership of 18,000 viewers on Wednesday night, beating out the talk show's old record low of 49,000 by a big margin.
Unfortunately, Showbuzz Daily got their numbers wrong.
The 18,000 figure was for Backstage's 2am replay, not the original broadcast in the 11pm FS1 timeslot. FOX reached out to Lords of Pain to let them know that Backstage actually pulled 56,000 in that spot.
This still meant the show missing up on the top 150 cable shows for the evening. FOX has also revealed a number for the previous week's Backstage, with 86,000 tuning in for the Bella Twins' return.
As covered on Wednesday, the Backstage number can probably be explained by Super Tuesday, which dominated United States television that evening. An NBA game was the only thing that could break the high-profile political event's stranglehold on the top five as Joe Biden and Bernie Sanders battled in a number one contender's match for the right to face Donald Trump in November.
Whatever the case, 56,000 is still significantly lower than the show's 2019 average of 117,777 viewers. Let's see if it rebounds next week.
