AEW's Sammy Guevara's busy news week looks set to continue with Dave Meltzer's new report on what happened when the Spanish God was removed from an AEW/Impact Wrestling crossover angle last week.

As reported earlier this week, Guevara had been scheduled to travel to Nashville for Impact tapings last week. He didn't like the creative, leading to him being pulled from the shows, with newcomer Black Taurus taking his spot in several of the planned angles.

Per this week's Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Sammy was set to win three matches at the 9-11 February Impact tapings. He apparently pitched winning the company's X Division Championship then returning to AEW with the gold and rather than losing it, the belt would be put up in a tournament. Impact rejected this idea.

Chris Jericho put the original Sammy/Impact angle together with Don Callis, with Scott D'Amore telling Guevara (upon arriving in Nashville) that Impact didn't need him if he wasn't going to run with the original plan.

Per the writeup, Impact were upset that AEW had sent talent over and come up with plans, only for the talent to change their mind. A source within Impact has previously claimed that the original idea was something Guevara should have said "no" to.

The good news? All fences have now been mended, but Impact definitely weren't happy prior to this.
