Jon Moxley was due to take time off from All Elite Wrestling prior to the mayhem that swept through the promotion this week.

Fightful Select found out on Sunday that one of AEW's top stars was due for a hiatus after that night's All Out 2022 show, with Moxley, who dropped the World Championship to CM Punk in the pay-per-view's main event, confirming this was him.

AEW had planned on bringing Moxley back for its 18 October show in the two-time World Champion's Cincinnati, Ohio hometown. Instead of taking leave, Mox stuck around to help lead a talent meeting prior to this week's Dynamite and add some star power to that show, the lineup of which he was added to after CM Punk and The Elite were pulled by AEW.

CM Punk, Kenny Omega, The Young Bucks and more are currently serving suspensions after their already-infamous post-All Out 2022 brawl. There is currently no word on when they might return, though a third-party investigation into what happened has been comissioned.

Moxley was inserted into the Grand Slam Tournament of Champions to determine Punk's predecessor, as AEW stripped 'The Voice of the Voiceless' of the AEW World Championship on Dynamite. He enters the competition in its second round, facing the winner of Sammy Guevara vs. Darby Allin, which takes place on tonight's Rampage.
