With a rubber match between Cody Rhodes and Brock Lesnar looming large on the horizon, there's now word on when exactly that third bout between the pair will take place.

Speaking on the latest edition of Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer ended the show by noting how Rhodes vs. Lesnar III will happen at this year's SummerSlam.

As Meltzer bluntly detailed:

"Brock Lesnar [versus] Cody Rhodes is SummerSlam. SummerSlam, Ford Field, match number three."

It's also worth adding that the Observer founder "presumes" Cody will emerge victorious in this third contest, but that he's not heard anything concrete on that matter.

While it's been made clear on WWE programming that we will be getting a third match between Rhodes and Lesnar, the big question was whether that would take place at Money in the Bank or SummerSlam. Now, it appears that we'll have to wait until SummerSlam on 5 August to see these two talents do battle once again.

Of course, this also then throws up questions about Cody Rhodes' role at Money in the Bank in London on 1 July.

As of this writing, the American Nightmare does not have a match advertised for this next Premium Live Event, and he likewise is not amongst the names vying for a spot in the titular men's ladder match. While LA Knight, Ricochet, Shinsuke Nakamura and Matt Riddle have earned themselves entry into the Money in the Bank contest, the other two advertised qualifying matches still to come are Santos Escobar vs. Mustafa Ali, and Butch vs. Baron Corbin.

WWE could obviously change things up to have Cody become a part of the Money in the Bank bout, and such a move could easily lead to Lesnar costing Rhodes at that PLE, in turn further setting the scene for SummerSlam.

Right now, it seems impossible to think of WWE running a PLE and not having Cody Rhodes competing on the show in some form or fashion. As such, one has to imagine Rhodes will be lacing up his boots at London's O2 Arena at the turn of the month.

This news comes hot on the heels of Cody reportedly pitching a Dog Collar offering for he and Brock; a pitch that was rejected by WWE.
