NXT TakeOver Toronto: Ranking Every Match From Worst To Best
Best. Match. Ever.
It's an almost hilariously commonplace occurrence that NXT's PPVs are outgunning the main WWE offerings on the very same weekend, and it's safe to say that the admittedly rather decent Survivor Series (main event excluded) was largely outdone by another stellar showing from the NXT brand.
TakeOver: Toronto was further proof of how much Triple H is getting right with it, serving up a number of highly entertaining bouts ahead of one jaw-dropping battle that's probably one of the best-booked and best-performed matches of any kind to ever take place in a WWE ring.
NXT continue to outdo themselves as well as the main product, and so now fans are simply left wondering, where exactly do they go from here?
Here is every NXT TakeOver Toronto match ranked from worst to best...
5. Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic Final: The Authors Of Pain Vs. TM-61
Result: The Authors kill Shane Thorne with the Last Chapter to win the tournament (8:20).
Rating: This one had a decent showing from TM-61 as expected, though the Authors were an extremely uninspired choice for finalists and did little here to really suggest they should've won the Classic.
The chain botch (where one of the Authors accidentally threw it into the audience) was distractingly comical, it was too short to get a proper build and the cage gimmick felt like a desperate attempt to liven up a fairly underwhelming tournament.
Not bad by any means overall, just rather forgettable and the crowd resultantly had little interest in it throughout. The single weak link of the show. 5/10
