Promoters Reportedly Trying To Coax Ex-TNA Star Out Of Retirement
Who do companies want?
Fightful are reporting that several promoters have tried to lure former TNA star Monty Brown (who also had a run in WWE as Marcus Cor Von) out of retirement over the past year, but he's not interested.
The 50 year old did appear on one charity event and has been spotted backstage at select WWE and Impact Wrestling shows, but he apparently has "no desire" to return to the pro wrestling business as an active in-ring performer.
Most of the bids to coax Brown back into the game have gone unanswered.
Ex-WWE man Kevin Thorn, who is close friends with Monty, said that Brown refused to wrestle on the aforementioned charity gig and only agreed to appear as a special attraction. He noted that several promoters have tried reaching out without much success in the past, and that his mate remains staunch in his decision to retire.
Key management figures in Impact reportedly pressed to get Brown back in the fold recently (which might have something to do with other recent reports about a TNA spin-off program). There's no word yet on whether or not they've given up or will continue pursuing the one-time 'Alpha Male'.
