Roman Reigns has responded to Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson's call-out from this week's episode of WWE Raw.

Rock was effectively the returning "former WWE Champion" promised by Paul 'Triple H' Levesque ahead of Raw, which was branded a 'Day 1' special, though Jinder Mahal was used as a ruse in San Diego, CA.

Interrupting a typical Mahal heel promo, Johnson commanded a thunderous crowd reaction as he showed up, ran Jinder through on the microphone, then put him down with a Rock Bottom and People's Elbow. Afterwards, he picked up the microphone, spoke of going out to dinner in San Diego, then referenced Reigns, claiming he'd sit at "the Head of the Table."

The Undisputed WWE Universal Champion has since responded.

And, brace yourselves.

Okay...

Wow.

Rock's "Head of the Table" line was his most overt tease for a match with Reigns yet. The much sought-after dream match has been speculated for years, with the rumours seemingly intensifying with each passing WrestleMania. Now, even as Cody Rhodes and CM Punk have emerged as strong headlining options, WWE appears to at least be nudging its fans towards Rock vs. Reigns at WM40 this April.

Maybe. It's wrestling. Nothing is confirmed until the first bell rings, but Rock wasn't shy on Raw.
