Roman Reigns will return to WWE Monday Night Raw to provide an update on his ongoing battle with leukaemia next week (25 February).

WWE's official Twitter account broke the news yesterday, prompting follow-ups from Triple H, Sasha Banks, Vince McMahon, and a host of others.

The announcement comes as a total surprise. There haven't been any concrete updates on Reigns' health since he left television, though 'The Big Dog' and a number of his peers have spoken positively of his recovery. Now, hopefully, we should receive a more concrete update on what's going on with the former Universal Champion.

Not seen since relinquishing the big red belt upon telling the world his leukaemia had returned on Raw's 22 October episode, Reigns is guaranteed a hero's welcome next Monday night. That WWE have put so much effort into advertising this appearance suggests something big is afoot, so let's keep our fingers crossed that it's nothing but good news, and that he'll be able to return to the squared circle before long.

Reigns was recently seen filming shirtless fight scenes for an upcoming film with his cousin, The Rock. A positive sign, though it's obviously a far cry from wrestling.
