Is this how you "build new talent?"

The wrestler formerly known as Rusev hit Twitter to criticise WWE for hyping Shane McMahon's return to programming ahead of last night's RAW.

Here's what Miro had to say:-

McMahon later returned to WWE for the first time since October 2019, introducing RAW's new Underground segment: a "gritty" fight club presented through sepia tones, borrowing heavily from events like Josh Barnett/Matt Riddle's Bloodsport, Chikara's Crucible concept, and the old Brawl For All tournament.

Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer had previously reported that WWE brought Shane back to try and prevent last night's show from hitting an all-time ratings low. RAW has achieved this dubious accomplishment numerous times throughout the Empty Arena Era and it could well happen again, with yesterday's showing facing intense competition from other sporting events.

It's hard to take umbrage with Miro's words here. Shane's returns often attract increased attention, so it's understandable that WWE would hope for him to pop a number on RAW, though relying on McMahons to do so flies in the face of their attempts at creating new money-drawing stars.

Miro left WWE as part of the promotion's Black Wednesday cuts on 15 April.
