Triple H & Stephanie McMahon Oppose WWE Sale
WWE power (?) couple don't want impending company sale.
WWE Chief Content Officer and Head Of Creative Triple H and now-former Chairwoman and Co-CEO of the company Stephanie McMahon have "opposed a sale" of the company.
This is according to Axios, who have provided a number of sourced comments on the recent corporate dramas that have engulfed the organisation following Vince McMahon's dramatic return.
They said;
"[Vince] McMahon, who was simultaneously named chairman of the board, had just days before that “WWE has an exceptional management team in place, and I do not intend for my return to have any impact on their roles, duties or responsibilities."Sources told Axios that Stephanie McMahon and her husband Paul "Triple H" Levesque, the company's chief content officer and a retired professional wrestler, had opposed a sale."
This follows the news that the board in its old form (including Stephanie, Triple H, Nick Khan and other now-former members) had unanimously voted against McMahon returning in late-2022. He did it anyway, and has since been the front face of a company very much up for grabs.
The prospect of new owners taking over WWE is just the latest twist in a dramatic tale that started with the return of McMahon to the company seven days ago, returning former company bigwigs George Barrios and Michelle Wilson being added to the board, the aforementioned exit of Stephanie McMahon, a heavily rumoured-then-quashed sale to the Saudi Arabian Public Investment Fund, and McMahon himself being sued by a shareholder.
