Wrestling is virtually synonymous with terrible tragedy. All of my childhood heroes are dead - Rick Rude, Mr Perfect, Big Boss Man - to name but a few. The life of the pro-wrestler is a hard one. On the road for most of the year and incurring injuries from their time in the ring, expected to have an Adonis like physique, the temptation is to fall into steroid use (a very contentious issue in the sport) and alcohol and drug abuse. You know that things are in a bad state whenever you hear of a wrestler's death and you think "another one bites the dust" - it has become so commonplace. But since the Chris Benoit incident, there has been a general trend of 'cleaning up' professional wrestling. Hopefully this will reduce the terribly high mortality rate. With this article, it is time to examine the ten worst tragedies in professional wrestling. Really, you could make this list the top 100 tragedies in professional wrestling, but I have narrowed my choice down to ten. Please share below the wrestling tragedy that affected you the most.
