WWE Announces Major Segment And Two Matches For Monday's Raw
We know what happens next? Sure we do. Wait, what's a Samoan Summit...?
Ready for a Samoan Summit? Nope, we don’t know what one is either. But regardless, this coming Monday’s episode of WWE Raw will be featuring just such a segment.
As announced by WWE, Raw will not only see a Samoan Summit, but the red brand will also see Seth Rollins vs. Dolph Ziggler – are we marking that down as a “wild card” move, or is everybody past caring by now? – and WWE Women’s Champion Becky Lynch will be facing off against Alexa Bliss in a non-title contest.
The narrative being painted by WWE ahead of this Monday, is that Rollins is out for revenge on Ziggler for his Superkick on Shawn Michaels on last week's SmackDown Live. Clearly Shawn Michaels and Triple H randomly helping Seth against The OC (“California”?) meant a lot to The Beast Slayer at Raw Reunion – or maybe it’s because D-X let Rollins fill in for Billy Gunn when they ran through their usual spiel.
Monday’s Raw takes place at the Verizon Arena in North Little Rock, Arkansas, and the Verizon Arena has previously announced that Brock Lesnar would be making an appearance on the show. For now, Paul Heyman’s Beast has yet to be confirmed by WWE, though.
Back to that Samoan Summit, then, and WWE has released some verbiage on what this segment will actually entail.
“Samoan pride was on the line last week when Roman Reigns battled Samoa Joe, and now that The Big Dog emerged victorious in the grudge match, it seems the two sides have come together in an effort to squash their beef. Reigns and Joe will meet in a “Samoan Summit” on Monday’s Raw, where the two will supposedly hash out their differences and find a way to move forward. It’s a surprising turn of events between two known fighters, though there’s something to be said for a desire to move forward. With that being said, talks are just as likely to break down – and given that they’re both from the same island, we know what happens next.”
We know what happens next, indeed. That’ll be Samoa Joe eventually taking another L courtesy of The Big Dog.
