Goldberg's push wasn't on the cards for this WWE Hall Of Famer pre-retirement.

WWE legend Kurt Angle planned to have a run similar to Bill Goldberg's most recent when he returned to the company in 2017.

The Olympian spoke via his new 'Kurt Angle Show' (the latest episode is currently available on Patreon, but will be released for free via Westwood One's feed on Sunday) and couldn't hide how disappointed he was by how things turned out.

Sadly for Kurt, his body started "shutting down" before his comeback. That made it extra-tough for him to live up to the billing in subsequent matches, and it's presumably part of the reason why WWE booked him in a tag with Ronda Rousey against Triple H and Stephanie McMahon at WrestleMania 34.

One year later, after a bout with Baron Corbin at 'Mania 35, he was done.

That has never sat well with Angle, and he's especially annoyed that he wasn't able to work the same kind of "kick ass" run Goldberg has. Kurt wanted those big-time dream matches, the pay-per-view paydays and the WrestleMania main events.

In short, he wanted the World Title reigns that Goldberg has enjoyed over the past five years.
