WWE Issues Statement On Positive COVID-19 Test Results
Testing protocols outlined in new company statement.
WWE has issued a new statement on its COVID-19 testing protocols, seemingly recognising the reported outbreak at the Performance Center recently.
Here's what the company told PWInsider's Mike Johnson:-
“As part of ongoing testing protocols, WWE completed its second round of weekly COVID-19 testing on Tuesday. Individuals that tested positive will quarantine for 14 days, receive medical care, and then will only be cleared when they are symptom-free and test negative. Additionally, extensive contact tracing has taken place and other individuals have been placed in 14-day quarantine, and will then only be cleared after they test negative.”
As pointed out by Figure Four Online/The Wrestling Observer's Josh Nason, HIPAA laws prevent the promotion from releasing the names of those wrestlers who tested positive.
News of the outbreak was broken by Spectrum Sports 360's Jon Alba and Fightful Select's Sean Ross Sapp. It was stated that WWE personnel were still testing positive as of last weekend, with the belief being that a Performance Center coach had accidentally brought the virus into the group.
This was WWE's second reported outbreak of the illness currently sweeping the planet, with July bringing reports that as many as 40 people had tested positive.
