WWE Raw Viewership Drops To Another New Low
Raw stays below 3 million viewers for the 5th consecutive week.
One week removed from drawing the lowest viewership of 2017 thus far, WWE Raw's slump continued with the Memorial Day (May 29th) episode. Featuring the final hype for Sunday's Extreme Rules pay-per-view, the show drew just 2.613 million viewers, down from last week's 2.615 million, marking this as the fifth straight week that Raw has averaged below three million viewers.
If announcing Seth Rollins vs. Roman Reigns and Bray Wyatt vs. Samoa Joe vs. Finn Balor ahead of time was supposed to reverse the downward trend, it didn't work. It's a small decline, but an embarrassing figure nonetheless, particularly as there were no NBA/NHL playoffs to compete with this week.
Raw drew 2.689 million viewers in the first hour, 2.681 million in the second, with the third dropping to 2.468 million.
The show was first in overall cable viewership for the night, and second in the 18-49 demographic, behind Street Outlaws. Raw finished fifth overall last week, which shows that TV viewing numbers fell off across the board for the public holiday, but it's still a massive drop from last year's Memorial Day show, which drew 3.23 million viewers.
