What a mess.
The so-called Super Bowl of Wrestling is over for another year, and typical for the "Showcase of the Immortals", WrestleMania 34 was an absolute mess of underwhelming headlining matches, cringe-worthy novelty fights, and a few genuinely entertaining matches that actually lived up to expectations.
This year's broadcast - a seven-plus hour slog if you tuned in from the kickoff show onward - blew several potentially iconic, unforgettable bouts due to mediocre in-ring performances and WWE's ever-prevalent problem: nonsensical booking.
Whether you were "sports entertained" or not - because WrestleMania's kinda like cold pizza: it's still enjoyable-ish even when it sucks - it was hard to argue with that the slate of matches was largely uninspired.
When you consider how effortlessly superior NXT's mere five-match card was a mere 24 hours earlier, it's hard not to see WrestleMania as an annual, gaudy celebration of everything excessive and frustrating about the product.
