WWE star Murphy offered up an explanation for his recent heel turn on the promotion's official Instagram page, but his comment was deleted shortly afterwards.

Seth Rollins' old disciple popped back up on last week's episode of SmackDown and tried to get back in his old leader's good books. That went completely against his union with the Mysterio family before taking a short break from TV, which confused fans.

Explaining, Murphy said that Rey was jealous of his Cruiserweight abilities, Dominik was happy to stand ringside during his matches and Aalyah needed an excuse to push her way onto TV - that, according to the reborn heel, is why the Mysterio clan "used" him for a few months.

WWE clearly didn't like this context, because the comment disappeared a few hours after going live.

Murphy may well discuss his sudden reappearance on tonight's edition of SmackDown. Perhaps WWE planned to give him some mic time, and so didn't think the social media add-on was necessary. If not, then there was no good reason to ask him to take the comment down.

Fans who invested time in Murphy's alliance with the Mysterios deserve some clarification.
