10 Astounding Facts To Get You Pumped For Black Adam
10. He Is One Of The Strongest Supervillains In DC Comics
Five thousand years ago, the Wizard - formally known as Shazam - sought a champion to entrust with his godlike power to bring balance to the world. After years of investigating, the sorcerer concluded that the Egyptian prince, Teth Adam, was worthy and thus, bestowed him with his power when he cries out the word, "SHAZAM!"
However, the Egyptian god of violence, Set, corrupted the spell so Adam's power was derived from the Ancient Egyptian pantheon; a collection of deities that Set had full-control over. This allowed Set to poison Adam's mind, turning him into a force of evil. As a result, Adam was blessed (or cursed) with the abilities of six Egyptian gods; Shu's stamina, Heru's swiftness, Amon's strength, Zehuti's wisdom, Aton's power, and Mehen's courage.
These deities have given Adam many skills including super strength, agility, durability, flight, teleportation, metamorphosis, healing, and clairvoyance. With these powers, he has decimated armies single-handedly and obliterated entire nations in a single afternoon. Because his power is derived from magic, he can easily defeat Superman, since Kryptonians are vulnerable to enchantments.
It's ironic how The Wizard created Black Adam's to vanquish evil and instead, created one of the deadliest villains on the face of the Earth.
