With issue one, we were introduced not only to a new Daredevil, but a return to a comic villain with a real flavor, despite the fact that he's relatively unknown. The Spot pops in and out of his realm to wreak havoc (you know, kidnapping, snapping necks and all that jazz), and proves a formidable foe enough to tango with the return of Daredevil, but not one so burdening that it weighs the story down with gobs of melodrama. He's the perfect villain to start with and the scene is wonderfully and creatively written and choreographed, and only promises some great action to come. And anyone who's currently kept up with this Daredevil run (who hasn't yet gotten a chance to read issue 20 yet), knows that The Spot apparently hasn't been the fly-by-night character we assumed he was. No, in fact he's apparently returning (or at least we think he is) and he's doing so pretty fantastically and flamboyantly. Whatever could we be talking about?
