10 Best Daredevil vs. Kingpin Storylines

10. The Man Without Fear

This 1993-94 five-part miniseries from Frank Miller and John Romita Jr. looks back at Daredevil€™s roots, and explores how a young boy who is blinded by radioactive waste could eventually become the €œMan Without Fear.€ While the mini primarily functions as an origin retelling and re-imagining, Miller and JRJR also manage to introduce the rise of Wilson Fisk as an early antagonist for Daredevil. The creative team is careful to never allow Matt Murdock and Fisk to physically interact at any point during the storyline, as the two wouldn€™t actually meet for the first time until Daredevil #170 (years after this mini takes place). But The Man Without Fear is still a worthwhile examination of how the two characters are inextricably linked. Plus, readers are treated to some of Kingpin€™s trademark ruthlessness, as Fisk assumes his leadership position in the mob after assassinating the boss by crushing his skull with his bare hands.
