Starting as a villain for the original Golden Age Green Lantern, Alan Scott, this zombified behemoth has had multiple origins in the DC universe since his debut in 1944.

In his Batman '66 beginnings, Cyrus Gold was an Olympic wrestler who, thanks to their witchful Aunt Helda's love potion, falls for classic '66 Villain Marsha, Queen of Diamonds.

One day Marsha leaves Cyrus waiting for her in the cold, only to find him frozen to death, and so Helda resurrects him into the monstrous Solomon Grundy.

With the Batman '66 TV show using The Addams Family alumni including Morticia Addams herself and Caroline Jones as Martha Queen of Diamonds, Ted Cassidy, who portrayed the Addams long-suffering butler Lurch, would have indeed been perfect casting.
