8. Wonder Woman Kills Ares

The battles between Ares and Wonder Woman are practically a staple of the on-going Wonder Woman comic book series. These encounters, of course, tended to end in Diana’s favor- whereas Ares is often left defeated. There have been some moments, however, where Diana has actually gone far enough to kill the god of war.

The first time she had killed Ares to protect her Amazonian sisters, but the second time was done so unwillingly. During the battle that ensues between Diana and the villain First Born, Ares is left seemingly defeated by his long-forgotten brother, where he appears within inches of dying by his hand. Diana nevertheless intervenes, however, and runs a pike through the two of them, killing Ares in the long run.

This was especially hard for her to do because Ares (or War, as he was called then) was an ally of her's. Regardless, Ares does not blame Diana for what she did and even praises her with his dying breath.
