Dinah Lance did the next best thing to starting a disco club. Perhaps taking cues from her family history, she started a flower business, Sherwood Florist. The only problem was, it atrophied and was ultimately destroyed. If we can learn anything from the Black Canary's endeavors as an entrepreneur, it's to make sure your business is your top priority, regardless of your personal life. If you're constantly putting things on hold so you can go fight crime, or indeed, if you use your business specifically as a front for fighting crime, not only will your business suffer from lack of effort, but you may not come back in enough pieces to run it either. Building your business around your significant other, especially one like Oliver Queen, is an arguably greater point of caution. At least make sure you have a good nose for hiring. Dinah has certainly grown from her experiences as a small business owner, and many of those have real-world applications we can all learn from. Her effort is an example to remember.
