Marvels Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. undoubtedly found its footing when the first season abandoned its meandering narrative about TAHITI projects and the Clairvoyant and instead tied the shows plot directly into the Marvel Cinematic Universe. If Marvel wishes to continue its trend and build a multimedia universe of comic book characters, it could adapt the critically adored Young Avengers comic for television. The series focuses on a supergroup of adolescent characters who have ties to Marvels core group of Avengers heroes. Similar to Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., a Young Avengers series could effectively introduce a whole assembly of lesser known heroes and villains into the MCU who could then be integrated into other films and Marvel projects. Additionally, established characters from the MCU could be periodically brought in as guest stars to boost ratings, promote future films and overall sell the idea that everything is connected in the MCU. The comics young cast would make it an ideal fit on network television, and depending on Marvel and ABCs ambitions, could even help create a two hour block of MCU television if aired on the same night as Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.
