Superheroes are, by their very nature, pretty weird and wacky - after all, what could be weirder than costumed individuals with otherworldly powers and abilities who fight crime/evil for the hell of it? Even the more famous American comic book companies - companies like DC and Marvel who created heroes that readers take seriously, like Batman, Superman, Iron Man and Spider-Man - have been responsible for the creation of some insane heroic characters. Arm-Fall-Off-Boy, Squirrel Girl, Flatman, Matter-Eater Lad and Maggott are some prime examples of that. But it isn't just American companies that have created superheroes - far from it, in fact. Clearly influenced by the likes of Marvel and DC, the entire planet has joined in with the superhero fun - and not always with the same level of success or sanity that America has enjoyed over the years (whenever Japan gets its hands on anything, for example, you know things are going to get really weird). There really are some bizarre characters out there - some that are innocently silly, some that are amusingly bizarre and some that are just outright wrong. This article will list ten of the craziest international heroes, including some that will make you smile, some that will leave you puzzled and some that will make you gasp.
