10 Deadliest Comic Book Events

3. Zero Hour

While Crisis on Infinite Earth remains one of DC's most beloved events, it left behind a whole bunch of loose ends that needed tying up. Zero Hero: Crisis in Time set out to do just that, triggering yet another reboot of the DC Universe.

By 1994, almost a decade after Crisis on Infinite Earths, Hal Jordan had been replaced as the Green Lantern, but he wasn't going quietly. After his home town was destroyed, Jordan went insane and launched various attacks which took out the entire Green Lantern Corps. At this point, Jordan terrorises the DCU, calling himself Parallax.

Using the multiple rings pulled from the corpses of his former team, Jordan attempted to rewrite the universe in order to undo all the pain he had caused with his murderous actions. His efforts cause various alternate realities to appear and slowly erases history, working backwards from its very end, to its beginnings.

As this unstoppable event continues, the remaining heroes know there is only one way to stop Parallax's attempt to create a new reality: sacrifice the current one. Teaming up to help Damage, the heroes give their life to create a new big bang, destroying the entire universe.
